This is a performance featuring a number of improvised solos played by jazz legend Stan Getz (saxophone), carefully transcribed and arranged for (4) saxophones by Buffalo's own Don Menza.

Stan Getz (1927–1991) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, which was largely influenced by Lester Young. Getz came to prominence in the late 1940s with Wood Herman's big band, and went on to become an innovator in the style of cool jazz. Influenced by João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim, he also helped popularize bossa nova in the United States with the hit 1964 single "The Girl from Ipanema".

Don Menza (1936) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist born in Buffalo, New York. During the 1960s, Menza played the lead tenor chair with the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra (1960-62), the Stan Kenton Orchestra (1964-68), and the Buddy Rich Band for many years beginning in 1968.  In the 1970s he was a member of The Tonight Show Band.  Don Menza is a prolific composer and arranger, having penned many big band classics including "Time Check" and "Groovin' Hard".
