with JAZZ BUFFALO POLL winners, Rick Strauss and Dave Schiavone return to Pausa  to present a special night of Jazz. Rick and Dave have performed together over the years with many of the top names in music, here and abroad. This ensemble will be presenting new original tunes and a few choice standards. Also featured will be: Harry Graser- Piano, Paul LaDuca -Bass, and Devin Kelly- Drums. This evening promises to be a memorable musical experience.

Guitarist Rick Strauss has two, internationally released, discs, Jump Start & Body Lines, receiving critical acclaim, and chart positions on Billboard Jazz Charts. Rick played and composed for Spyro Gyra’s Morning Dance album, which rose to the top of the charts and received Platinum status. Their biggest selling album to date! Strauss has performed with the Buffalo and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestras – many well-know names in contemporary Jazz, including: Bobby Short, Dianne Reeves, Bobby Militello, Don Menza, John Dankworth, and Dave Brubeck.

Woodwind player Dave Schiavone, in addition to performing with the Amherst Saxophone Quartet, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and his own group (the Dave Schiavone Quartet, aka DSQ), has toured both nationally and internationally with the bands of Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, and Doc Severinson. He has also performed with artists Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick Jr., Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra Jr., Kenny Rogers, Maureen McGovern, David Clayton Thomas, Mel Lewis, Don Menza, Louis Bellson, Gap Mangione, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few. Dave is a graduate of the University of Buffalo Music School and also attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. In addition, he served for three years as saxophonist and flutist in the 324th and 327th U.S. Army Bands.
